CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

 

Qualifications: The festival is open to all, provided that your entry meets one of these thematic categories:

  • ABOUT: Qualifying films include or are about a central theme of the Bahá'í Faith. Projects do not need to be directly about the Bahá'í Faith or exclusively emphasize on its related principals, teachings or issues. A wide range of films can qualify in this category, see FAQ for further details.
  • BY: Qualifying films include a Bahá'í in a major production role and/or in principal cast. 

 

Language: The festival accepts films from around the globe, in any language. English subtitles for non-English films are required.

Categories:

  • Feature Narrative (Over 45 minutes)
  • Short Narrative (Under 45 minutes) 
  • Documentary (Any length) 
  • Animation (Narrative and non-television) 
  • Music Video (Under 7 minutes) 
  • Experimental (Any genre, any length)  
  • TV Show (23 minutes or Under) 
  • Webcast (Webisode, Vlog, Mobisode, Vodcast) 

 

Entry Fee: There are NO ENTRY FEES this year.

Criteria, Terms & Conditions:

  • The festival is open to everyone regardless of religion, age, gender or origin.
  • DBIFF is a traveling film festival and may choose to showcase your entries in more than one event.
  • DBIFF is an international film festival and takes place in multiple countries and territories.
  • You must own and/or have cleared all copyrights to your entries.
  • Your entries remain with the festival and is not returned to you nor shared with any third party.
  • Some stills and short clips of your film may be used for festival promotion purposes.
  • Terms and conditions are subject to change without further notice.

Entry Form: Although we are listed on Withoutabox, FilmFestivals and ReelPort, this year we only accept entries through our system.

Screener: The entries must be submitted in NTSC or PAL Region 0 DVDs. You can also submit in high-quality digital formats (.mov, .avi, .wmv, .mpeg). To expedite the process, you may also submit an online screener. Do not use paper labels on the DVD disk. You do not need to print or include the online entry form. You may include a press kit. You may use expedited or insured mailing options, but do not require signature. Mail to:

*Note: If you have a project that may need additional time, please send us an email with 1) a description of the project, 2) the reason for additional time request and 3) an exact date of completion. The festival will review the project and let you know if we can accept your request. This has to be done before our regular deadline, October 29, 2010.
